WEPCO engineers integrate state-of-the-art Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) into manufacturing and distribution operations to increase productivity and efficiency. Fully automated, they are appropriate for applications requiring high storage density, where there is a high volume of loads moving in/out of storage, and where there is no value adding content.
Benefits of AS/RS:
A unit load is a high-density pallet buffer designed to both maintain a compact footprint and make the most of vertical storage space. It is comprised of an input/output station, a storage retrieval machine (SRM), a storage rack, and on-board and end-of-aisle controls. It stores and retrieves items placed on pallets. Conveyors, AGVs, or forklifts transport items to the unit load. Available in standard unit or double-deep rack configurations, they can also be used to store hazardous material, long or bulky items, and used in freezer and low-noise applications.
Benefits of Unit Load AS/RS:
A mini load moves and stores parts or inventory placed in boxes, totes, or other containers. It is usually constructed of lightweight alloys which allow it to perform more quickly and be less costly to install and maintain. Mini loads are usually used for picking and order fulfillment and small parts storage, and are relatively quiet to operate.
