WEPCO has recently completed a project to design and implement a state-of-the-art cold chain distribution center for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. The facility will be used to warehouse and distribute Wyeth's new intra-nasal ("no shot") flu vaccine called FluMist. The 86,000 SF highly automated facility is believed to be the most advanced cold-chain distribution operation in the world. The design includes special freezer docks by McGuire, Woodson AS/RS pallet storage and retrieval, Fanuc robot depalletization, Hytrol pallet and case handling conveyors and unique pick/pack turntables with airlock case dispensing that facilitates ambient order fulfillment of the frozen product.
